NextPage 1.5 Review

My review of NextPage 1.5 for InfoWorld came out this week. I think the product is a winner.

NextPage 1.5 is so easy to use that there's really no more excuse for not managing documents at your organization. If you're a CFO worried about Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, or just a project manager trying to get a handle on who's got what, this product will solve your problems.

What makes it work is that its the first document management system I've seen that doesn't require users to change how they work. That's revolutionary.

I recorded a podcast of a chat I had with Tom Ngo, NextPage's CTO and Cydni Tetro, NextPage's VP of Marketing. I tried to use the interview to add value to the 900 word review. Let me know how you think I did. On the technical side, Cyd's telephone connection wasn't the best, so there's some annoyance there.

When I commented on the release earlier, Richard Miller left a comment that states a point of confusion I think many users will have. NextPage (the company) used to have a product called (NXT) which is what most people know them for. This new product (NextPage 1.5) is completely unrelated to NXT. I think NextPage would have done well to have given this new product a name that makes that clear. I hope that doesn't hurt the product, because this is one that deserves wide usage.
